Like Pagani with the Zonda, Lamborghini seems to have trouble putting the Gallardo off to sleep. Just as the replacement Cabrera is reported to debut this September, Lamborghini whips out another "speciale" of the baby bull, which seems to be a facelifted Gallardo with the Super Trofeo Stradale wings, engine bay, the works. They're reportedly calling it the Squadra Corsa, which loosely translates to Racing Team.

The Gallardo has served it's purpose. Give it a dignified retirement. Please, let this be the last!

Going by the STS three color strategy, there should be one more color for Squadra Corsa.

The Italian tricolor stripes seems to have been nicked from the Veneno

Will debut in Frankfurt in September (there goes the Cabrera debut rumors down the drain). Powertrain is identical to the Superleggera, Performante, Edizione Tecnica and Super Trofeo Stradale.

Correction:: Its Squadra Corse, not Corsa. Sorry!

Gallardo is trying to breath its last and how!!!
the Super Trofeo Stradale wing and the engine bay cover do look exquisite, but that triangular front and rear end just doesn't work for me. The STS in its avatar was brilliant and aggressive. This front looks bleak. It's high time Lamborghini should consider putting Gallardo to sleep, trying to strech the range to give that extra breath of air will make it loose its dignity. But yet again i cannot deny, it still looks equally impressive.

Lamborghini has officially unveiled the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

The specs;

• 5.2-liter V-10, 562 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque
• Under 3000 pounds
• six-speed single-clutch automatic
• 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds, 0-124 mph in just 10.4 seconds, top speed of 199 mph
• standard carbon-ceramic brakes
• The rear wing reportedly produces three times more downforce than the standard Gallardo’s spoiler

The Gallardo Squadra Corse is distinguished from the rest of the Gallardo lineup by its Italian flag-inspired green, white, and red decal strip that starts just ahead of the V-10′s side-air intakes, and a black-painted hood, diffuser, air intakes, and wheels. The Lamborghini Gallardo Squadra Corse comes in yellow, white, gray, or red, while its brake calipers come in red, black, or yellow.
