Suzuki Previews Three New Concept Cars - ahead of the Tokyo auto show to begin in November 23rd through Dec 1st.

The Suzuki booth's theme is: "Let's Create a Brand New Story". Suzuki recognizes that the daily life of each and every customer is a story, and by adding something to each of those stories, our desire to create different, brand new stories together with our customers, is put into the theme.
Based on the Suzuki slogan of "Small Cars for a Big Future," the concept cars to be exhibited at the show offer cars that are currently in demand, cars that should be available in the near future, and cars for the more distant future. In order to build a Brand New Story that will add excitement and passion to the daily lives of customers around the world, the cars are packed with Suzuki's attractive products and unique leading-edge technology.


First up is the Crosshiker - a three-door crossover fitted with a large panoramic roof that draws inspiration for Suzuki’s 2011 REGINA concept. It weighs only 810 kilograms (1,785 lbs) and it’s powered by a new 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine.




The second concept car is called Hustler and the company describes it as “the challenge to a new genre, a crossover that suits an active lifestyle”. Gifted with a “stylish yet practical design with plenty of SUV touches,” the Hustler features a spacious and comfortable interior. The Hustler will be presented as a boxy hatchback with a sloping Evoque-style roofline.








Lastly, Suzuki will also reveal the X Lander - “a real 4WD hybrid with a distinctive personality” that’s based on the Jimny and comes with a 1.3-liter engine mated to a newly-developed automatically controlled manual transmission. The engine is with a robotized manual and four-wheel drive into a high-riding, chopped-windshield convertible sport-ute form.









In addition to the three new concepts shown below, the Japanese automaker will also showcase theiV-4 concept shown at the Frankfurt motor show.



Some of these are expected to preview at the Auto expo 2014- Delhi.

Nissan BladeGlider, debuting at the Tokyo Motor Show, is both the future direction of Nissan electric vehicles and an exploratory prototype of the Nissan ZEOD RC from the world's leading EV manufacturer.

The project, led by Francois Bancon, division general manager of Product Strategy and Product Planning at Nissan, has developed a deltoid-shape vehicle with a narrow front track that challenges the orthodoxy that has dominated the roads since the earliest days of the internal combustion engine.

BladeGlider shares sustainable engineering values with both Nissan LEAF and the Nissan ZEOD RC (Zero Emission On Demand Racing Car), which will run at next year's Le Mans 24 Hour race.

Nissan Bladeglider reinvents form factor of cars.
It has got such a low aerodynamic drag coefficient, it achieves efficiency of almost 50% more compared to conventional shaped cars. It has 30-70 optimum weight distribution. Its front narrow track of 1 meter with wide stable rear track of 1.8 meters has passenger seating configuration of driver seating in F1 style cockpit with 2 co passengers seating in rear. It is electric with powered by in-wheel electric motors with lithium ion battery packs which
can be optimally placed in the body. Its body is made up of carbon fiber and carbon fiber-reinforced plastic.

Nissan says the idea for the BladeGlider, the wedge-shaped concept that drew crowds at the Tokyo Motor Show last week, came out of the clear blue sky.

One of Nissan's former racing partners begs to differ.

Delta Wing Project 56, a company backed by racing tycoon and pharmaceuticals entrepreneur Don Panoz, is suing the Japanese automaker, arguing that the BladeGlider is a knockoff of its similarly wedge-shaped DeltaWing race car, which debuted at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2012 with a Nissan engine under the hood.

There is no denying the resemblance between the DeltaWing and the BladeGlider.

That's the nature of technological innovation in every field we see...from automotive to consumer electronics, instead of cooperating, companies are happy in suing each other to gain publicity and hype patents to gain share prices This reminded me of dealers in US suing Tesla Motors for selling cars directly to consumers. Expect more litigation as electric cars, connected car technology gains prominence
