They used to draw inspiration from the kinetic design by Ford but now they have just outright copied it :O Note the rear quarter glass, the waistline, the hood, the grille, the design of the alloys. This is just appalling someone please tell me this is just a speculative rendering

Yes, this is just a speculative render, but Hyundai's known for picking up popular design cues and turn them around to their own benefit, so don't be surprised if the real thing is almost as close.

oh! What do you think of the newer Ford design cues?? The grill is a outright copy of the Aston Martin!! Now, isn't that some digging into someone else's wardrobe???

IMO, this is infinitely better than the current fluidic Sonata. The grille is pretty similar to what they have on the new Santa FE.

Take it easy buddy, Those Astons were designed when ford owned them. So its their design, so no one questioned much when ford came up with the new designs.

Read somewhere, Hyundai is going to tone down the "Fludic Design" for the next gen. lets see how the real production version turns out. Whether its a copy or not, it looks a little better than the current hideous sonata.

Do you know that Ford still owns a small stake of Aston Martin?

And it's only the grille that looks similar. The whole fludic theme of Hyundai was heavily inspired from the Ford's kinetic design.

This is nothing new from Hyundai...
Even the 1st gen Sonata borrowed(rather stole) design heavily from Merc+Jaguar.

If Wikipedia is to be believed, Ford owned (wholly) Aston Martin only from 1994 until 2007. With regards to the design, I don't think Ford had anything to do with the classic designs of the Aston Martins as the Vantage and Vanquish models drew heavy inspiration from the DB series (with the signature grill style) and Ford promptly picked it up (call it influence, inspiration or blunt copying!).

When you copy, copy someone worthy like the Jaguars or the Audis. Why copy Ford?

To me it appears an inspiration/ copy of models from the Volvo stable, which have been quite understated, but elegant, off late.

Very true... quite aligned to the facelifted Volvo S60. But anyway, I prefer the new neutral looks from Hyundai compared to the existing fluidic ones.

I have to disagree again. Ford's grill doesn't look like the DB series, its the profile. The DB never had that profile before ford era, it was the DB7 that came of this design on '93 when ford owned and ford shared the platform with jag xk8/xj so you would see the same profile on the jag too.

2015 Hyundai Sonata Facelift engine details revealed; No diesel.

Quote:
With no turbo diesel engine in sight, the 2015 Sonata Facelift is likely to continue as a low selling flagship Hyundai sedan in the Indian market. On the inside, the 2015 Sonata will become more luxurious than ever with an array of creature comforts. Redesigned interiors, new seats and a new infotainment console are a few changes that Hyundai has promised with the teaser of the 2015 Sonata. The touch and feel aspect of the interiors are also said to be improved on the facelifted Sonata.
