The Auto Evolution team have spotted the present-gen Skoda Octavia's facelift undergoing cold-weather testing.

Changes which can be made out are the rectangular edges of the front bumper housing the foglamp casings similar to the outgoing Audi A4, and the rear bumper seems to be toned down from the existing one as well. Overall, it seems to be a minor touchup job on the outside.

Interiors remain unknown.

Expect the Octavia facelift to be launched by Skoda in Europe in the second half of 2015, with a possible India launch by end-2015/early 2016.

2017 Skoda Octavia facelift will allegedly have double headlight layout.

The most significant change will be the adoption of twin headlights, following the four lamp approach that Kaban has also used to good effect on Skoda’s new SUV line-up.
Small, square outer lights feature an LED daytime running light underline, while separate inner lights – which continue the LED underline – are cleverly integrated into a Superb-style grille. The rear lights will also be mildly updated and continue to feature the C-shaped rear light style, while the rest of the outside of the car remains largely unchanged.

There may be some minor tweaks inside the car, too, especially on the technology front with connectivity marked out as a big focus for the company in the future

Skoda Octavia Gets 115 PS 1.0-Liter TSI Engine And Dynamic Chassis Control.

Joining the petrol powertrain lineup in the 2017 Skoda Octavia family is a new 3-cylinder turbocharged unit. It has 999 cc and serves as a replacement for the 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 115 PS (113 HP) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque, between 2,000 and 3,500 rpm. Going from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) varies between 9.9 seconds and 10.2 seconds, depending on the selected version (hatch/combi and manual/DSG gearbox), while top speed rises to 202 km/h (125 mph)

Skoda highlights an 8 percent improvement in fuel consumption over the previous engine, stating that the hatch burns 4.5 lt/100 km (52.27 mpg US), while the Combi needs 4.6 lt/100 km (51.13 mpg US) and 4.5 lt/100 km (52.27 mpg US) with a DSG/manual gearbox, respectively. CO2 emissions vary between 103 g/km and 106 g/km.

The New Octavia range will benefit from a substantial mid-life update next year, to bring it into line with the SUV Kodiaq.



The car’s overall dimensions won’t change, as the bodywork fundamentals won’t get a full makeover until an all-new version appears before the end of the decade. That means the same practical, roomy interior, plus an identically big boot. No changes to the powertrains are expected.

Auto Express shows how the new model will look,

with an altogether different front end to the one seen on the Kodiaq. While the SUV will get a two-tiered set-up to emphasize height, the Octavia will use wider lenses as seen here – a trait likely to transfer to the rest of Skoda’s core range at a later date.
A distinctive LED light signature will further emphasis the changes, while re sculpted bumpers and a Superb-style grille will complete the revised nose.

At the rear, C-shaped LED lamps will remain on the facelifted version of the Octavia – albeit slightly redesigned for a fresher look. All these changes will, of course, apply to the larger Estate, too.

The interior will get a significant update, though, with a new 9.5-inch touchscreen with smartphone integration and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It could even support gesture control, for ease of use while driving. Skoda is expected to make use of the VW Group’s Virtual Cockpit dials, too, although maybe not from launch. While quality was never an issue, the brand is expected to offer more soft-touch plastics to complement the updated infotainment.
