The second generation Jaguar XF has been spied for the first time while undergoing testing ahead of a planned 2016 release.

The new XF is bound to grow in size in order to distance itself from the XE so the stretched wheelbase will grant more room inside the cabin, especially for rear passengers who will enjoy the additional legroom, also will lose as much as 100 kgs.

Both RWD & AWD systems will be available and matched with an updated variant of the 9-speed gearbox (seen in 2014 Evoque)

Jaguar has just teased the next generation of its existing rival to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class - the 2016 Jaguar XF. The British automaker has confirmed that the car will make its official debut on the 24th of March, ahead of its public showcase at the New York motor show in April - where the complete range and technical details will be disclosed. The highlight of the reveal event, will be British stuntman Jim Dowdall performing a high-wire water crossing in the all-new Jaguar XF.
