Is this a car above Swift? Is it the hatch version of Ciaz?

Is it really a hatchback?

There is a lot of space between the rear door handle and the tail lamps. Either the car is having a huge boot / it is just being disguised as a hatch!

The spy pics seem to show an intercooler! clap:

So it is indeed testing the new turbopetrol range of engines from Suzuki.

This could be the YRA, the B+ segment hatch back that Suzuki is supposed to be developing. It will slot above the Swift

The car looks quite generous in proportions. Maybe this could be Suzuki's new strategy, provide a size bigger than competition, like in the case of the Ciaz

The design looks very un-Suzuki. Looks very European going by proportions. Not sure what gave away that it was a Suzuki. Anyways, if we're getting it here, will be a true i20 competitor.

This appears to be the s-cross sx4, expected to hit by end of this year.

This is the new hatchback which is likely to be slotted above Swift. Its so-called premium hatchback, mainly to be slotted against Jazz, i20. Its likely to hit the roads by 2016, before new Swift comes in. At the same time, this car could also be a mini MPV. Its quite a time before this car hits Indian roads.

The spyshots have LHD configuration, and not from India. Request mods to shift this thread into International Automotive Scene section.

Autoevolution assumes that this might be the next gen Splash (Ritz in India).

The car does look B-I-G! Definitely above Swift it should slot. And the spy pics remind me of the Elite i20 pics caught internationally. As said, this should slot against the Jazz / i20!

Mod note: Thread moved to The International Automotive Scene.

It could be the SX4 Cross but like Crazy Driver commented, could be a notch back disguised as a hatch?

Could this be the next gen Dzire slated for the 2016 launch? Wild guess!!

Worldcarfans thinks that this will be the next Baleno hatch.

I'm certainly glad to see that Suzuki's efforts haven't been hampered by the lack of sales of the Kizashi. The car certainly marked a sign of good things to come then eh ;)

This prototype looks like it is in its early stages add to that Suzuki's development of its own engines, I don't think we can expect this even in the international markets before 2017 Anyway, seems like a really proportionate good looking hatch is on the way :)

To those saying it is the SX4 S-Cross, please, this isn't a supercar so why would Suzuki bother with rudimentary looking head and tail lights to camouflage testing a car that they have already put into production? Also the next gen Ritz idea seems flawed since the Ritz was the product of a jointly developed project by Suzuki and Opel and its viability no longer seems plausible. This is just a big hatch; a new segment for Suzuki not meant to replace anything out there already.

Is it a Suzuki? Grill seems to have a Nissan hint to it.

Glad to get to hear that name once again! The Baleno moniker is back.

However, this might not make it to India, atleast in the current hatchback form.

More spy pics. Seems like the Swift head lamps will be re-used, smooth A-pillar-to-roof joint area unlike Swift's, and generous boot. Add to that a super-planted stance to satisfy those racer heads!
