European hatchabck buyers will get a new hatchback to choose from. And it's not going to be just any hatch but a sleek and sexy Volvo C30.

Engine ranges from a 100 hp, four-cylinder 1.6-litre petrol engine, a clean and efficient four-cylinder, 1.6-litre diesel with 109 hp to the five-cylinder D5 and T5 turbo engines, providing 180 and 220 hp respectively.

Wow, finally a breath of fresh air from Volvo.

I love everything about the design, btu they could have been more creative with the front end.

This is one beauty. I have always loved the Volvo styling - and combined with their safety and styling like this, it becomes irresistible.

Volvo has confirmed that it will stop selling the C30 hatchback by the end of this year.

Volvo acknowledges that the C30 helped the company build its brand image in the States, but says the company must now reshuffle its lineup “to better position Volvo for the future and the next stages of our model portfolio.”

The C30 has never been a volume leader for Volvo, and so far this yearVolvo has sold just 2173 C30s in the U.S. Annual sales peaked at 4299 units in 2008, the car’s second year on the market, but fell to 4266 in 2007, 2906 cars in 2010, and 3471 units last year
