Future Skoda cars to get roomier interiors

Skoda Auto has indicated that its future models will have more spacious interiors.

The company has stated that the next-generation Superb will have a longer wheelbase than the Volkswagen Passat. The increased wheelbase should translate to improved legroom. The flagship sedan will remain less than 5 metres in length and is expected to be unveiled in less than six months from now. It will slot at the top of Skoda's sedan range and is the longest car in the company's line-up. The Octavia is 4.6 metres long, while the Rapid measures 4.3 metres in length and the Fabia, 4 metres. The Yeti crossover, which stands 4.2 metres long, is also likely to gain 10 cm, which will improve interior and boot space.

Skoda claims that the switch to the MQB platform has given it more flexibility to build specific cars rather than restrict it. The company's upcoming 7-seater SUV is likely to use the same version of the MQB platform as the next-generation Superb.

I don't think any customer has ever complained about lack of space in their cars. If they said anything about improving reliability or service standards , that'd probably deserve headline news.
