FXX-K, the new research and development programme being embarked upon by Ferrari with a highly select group of Client-Test-drivers, will be unveiled next weekend during the Finali Mondiali at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

The programme centres around a laboratory-car based on Maranello’s first hybrid, LaFerrari. The K in the new car’s moniker refers to the KERS kinetic energy recovery technology used to boost performance on the track. The FXX-K joins the non-competitive XX Programmes managed by the Corse Clienti Department in Maranello and thus far aimed at the owners of the exclusive FXXs and 599XXs.

Unfettered by homologation and racing regulations, the FXX K was developed to be completely uncompromising, incorporating technological innovations that will guarantee an unprecedented driving experience.

The design of the car is growing over and over time and now to my eyes it looks clean and mature enough to go in hall of of fames among the better designs of Maranello based racing marque.

The Black hood and the silver band originating from either side of the front hood tapering along the sides to the rear kung fu stance looks absolutely great.

P1 would be an unfair comparison.

The right comparison (and I'm hoping there could be one eventually, but highly unlikely) would be with Mclaren P1 GTR.

What a noise!! Simply fantastic. That is the best car exhaust noise in my opinion. Fantastic shifts, the bit where the 599xx passes on the main straight (2min 52secs) one can notice the difference between the 599xx and the FXXK gearbox. The 599xx takes ages to shift in comparison to the FXXK. Incidentally both of them belong to the Google VP.

I know that the Vice President of Google is a rich important man. I would've thought that the 30 FXXK's would go to ex racers, arab rich kids and Hollywood celebs. Great choice Mr. VP!

Even if this is the case, they can only get their hands on the XX series if they were fantastic drivers.

Ferrari loads up the XX series with their bleeding edge wizardry and depends on the feedback from the Clientele about how well the innovation is working. So unless Ferrari is sure that the customer can provide valuable feedback, no way Ferrari will sell any XX series car to them.

Indeed a nice video. Well made.
Good production values and good information. The presenter is un-pretentious. I appreciate that she doesn’t ‘unnecessarily try too hard’ to ‘contrive’ to be witty or humorous.
