Located in the village of Gyöngyöshalász, less than 100 km from Budapest, the capital city of Hungary, this is the company's first European greenfield facility. It is expected to start production in early 2017. The plant will produce both, Apollo and Vredestein branded tyres and will cater to the entire European market. It will have a capacity to produce 5.5 million passenger car and light truck tyres and 6,75,000 heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) tyres per annum.

Apollo started had recruiting personnel for the new plant at the beginning of this year. The company has already signed scholarship programmes with close to 90 technicians who will be contracted as employees from July 1. In the second half of the year, 150 more technicians together with engineers are expected to join the facility.
