At the ongoing Vienna Motor Symposium, Audi has taken the wraps off it's all-new 2.0L TFSI engine, scheduled to be introduced in the next-gen A4 launching in 2016.

The powerplant displaces 1984 cc and will make 190 HP and 320 Nm of torque (at 1450-4400 RPM), which is 13 HP more than the current TFSI engine found in the A6. Not only that, it also provides a fuel efficiency of 20 kmpl under standard NEDC test conditions. The engine is being billed as "most efficient two-liter gasoline engine in its class".

The next-gen A4 is India-bound by next year, so there is a very good chance that we will get this 2.0 TFSI here as well.

Is this a lower state of tune TFSI? Audi/ VW use the TFSI in many cars with 200, 210 and 220 hp as state of tunes. This replaces a 177 hp tuned 2.0?

A more lightweight (140 kgs) albeit powerful TFSI, with excellent FE to boot. Made specifically for the 2016 A4.

No reports of the 2.0 TFSI powering the A6 being discontinued/replaced yet.
