Korea: Updated Hyundai Santa Fe launched

Hyundai has recently launched the 2016 Santa Fe in the Korean market. The car gets a minor facelift and added equipment in terms of gizmos as well as safety.

The new car featurs minor changes like re-designed bumpers (both - front and rear) and front fog lamps, different ORVMs and alloy wheels as well as new tail lamps.

Some new safety kit makes its way in the new Santa Fe such as Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection and Autonomous Highway Safety Driving. The car's chassis and structure too seems to have been improved, with the use of High Strength Steel.

A higher megapixel rear view camera, 360 degree view monitor, advanced parking steering support systems and JBL support systems have been added to the equipment list.

The Santa FE is available with a 2.0 and 2.2 litre diesel engine. However, in India, we get only the latter with a manual or an automatic transmission option.

It will be interesting to see which features make their way to India. Recently, Hyundai had update the Santa FE in India with a larger touchscreen infotainment system (link to news article).

I think all Indian media have overlooked the fact that it is short wheel base Santa Fe which is refreshed in Korea and not the Long wheel base version which we get here.

Correct me if I am wrong.

True, but it's the same front end . This facelift should logically arrive on the Indian Santa Fe soon.

I think its the same SWB car that we get here. That angled up window line at the rear is the same as Indian car.

LWB has a relatively flatter window line till the rear. You may want to see this picture on Wikipedia :

Inside the cabin, the Santa Fe gets a slightly bigger screen and new controls for the infotainment system on the center console, with Hyundai adding that it has improved the quality and feel of the materials used throughout the interior.
