So Aston Martin has finally unveiled the DB9 successor and the biggest news is the new engine. It is now a turbocharged, yes, you read that right, V12!

And if you think turbocharging has muted the symphony, then you won't be disappointed. Well, maybe a little since it does have turbochargers and so it is bound to sound different, but it still sounds pretty good. Forward to the end of these clips to hear her-

We've known for several months now that the DB11 would be Aston Martin's successor to the DB9, but it wasn't until recently that we had any idea what it would look like. First, we saw a leaked image of the rear of the car, but then a few weeks ago another shot leaked, this time of the front end. Now the DB11 is officially here, and we have to say, we like the way it looks.
The company's design language has clearly evolved, but thankfully we're not looking at a drastic change here. Aston calls it "the latest landmark in a remarkable aesthetic
journey," but we just call it a great-looking car. When Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer says, "we aspire to make the most beautiful
cars in the world," he's clearly not joking.
What's under the hood is just as important as how the car looks and the DB11 doesn't disappoint. It has a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 that makes 600 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. That's enough to hit 62 mph in 3.9 seconds and give the DB11 a top speed of 200 mph.
What it doesn't have is a manual transmission. Instead, you get an eight-speed ZF automatic.
Thankfully, you get a torque vectoring limited-slip differential that should make the DB11 more fun in the corners even if you don't get to shift your own gears. It also has adjustable dampers, so you can choose how sporty you want the ride to be.
Aston Martin claims the DB11 is a genuine 2+2, with a trunk that's large enough to accommodate a full set of luggage and increased head and legroom in the rear. Amazingly, you get ISOFIX mounting points for a pair of child seats in the back, so there's no need to trade the Aston in for a Honda Odyssey just because you're expecting twins.
But putting an Aston Martin DB11 in your driveway is going to cost you. It starts at $211,995, but if the price tag doesn't scare you off, you can take delivery as early as the fourth quarter of this year.
