VW Beetle LSR with 535 BHP does 335 km/h

The world's fastest Volkswagen Beetle set a new land speed record at the World of Speed at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, America, last week touching the mark of 335 KMPH.

Though powered by the same 2.0L inline-4 turbocharged petrol motor pulling the 2014 Turbo R-Line, this one went through a complete overhaul to boost power from 207 BHP to 535.5 BHP, with a peak torque of 571 NM.

The revamped motor gets uprated turbos and pistons alongside other mechanical changes in the car such as suspension modifications.

The LSR stands for "Land Speed Record"
