Innovative Grappler Police Bumper - The end of police chases?

A tangled end to future police chases! Quite a novel idea!

Haha yeah saw this article last week. Very innovative but I doubt how safe this would be in real life conditions with actual traffic around. Would be cool to have this in some games like Need For Speed though

Wont locking just one wheel at high speeds lead to severe fish-tailing or possibly toppling of the car, eventually jeopardizing the safety of other road users?

Re: Innovative Grappler Police Bumper - The end of police chases?

It really helps in halting the fleeing culprit but I doubt whether it will work with traffic around. In our roads it's common to find a two-wheeler cutting across cars(speeding ones too) and I refrain to think what these ropes would do to a two-wheeler.
