The 20t and 25t replaces the Ford 2.0 Ecoboost thats currently being used whilst the 25d 237 bhp is a beefier version of the already existing 2.0 Ingenium. We will be getting these updated motor by Q4 2017 on MY18 cars

I believe the 25t would also be used in Discovery Sport in 2018 that has been using the Ford supplied 4 banger 2 ltr. inline turbo unit.

Discovery Sport customers in North America have complained of turbo lag and slow throttle response. With an increase of 18 lb-ft in torque & 7 bhp bump the new unit should address those concerns to quite an extent.

I was hoping that JLR would offer additional engine option at least for the top end variants of the Discovery Sport. Hopefully they will introduce the diesel engine option in the form of their Ingenium 25d in North America for Discovery Sport taking the lead from FCA as they are doing it for their 2018 Wrangler after dithering on it for years.

I believe JLR will also eventually replace the 3 ltr. LR-TD6 diesel unit (supplied by Ford) that they’re currently offering with Discovery with their own new Ingenium 2 ltr. twin turbo diesel engine that will have bucket load of low end torque with decent horsepower not to speak of fabulous fuel economy.

It is not widely known that Ford still supplies JLR with 25% of their total engines requirement.

Its amazing how far the diesel engines have come. Look at the specific output of the 2.0 litre four bangers, they make almost the same amount of power but the diesel absolutely destroys the petrol when it comes to torque. Having your cake and eating it too.

Jaguar XF new petrol engines and MY18

I happened to stumble upon the dealer data of Jaguar Land rover for a few moments and I started to search their portal for updates and cars.
One thing I noticed is that Jaguar XF for petrol has only 6/7 cars remaining at plant. New manufacturing has started for the upcoming new engines too with new Ingenium petrol derivative but could not find anything concrete on it.

If anyone has any news or more information about it please write about it here.
