Honda's Small RS concept

makes its debut at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show, previews the next-generation Brio.

Looks much better than current gen Brio, especially the rear end doesn't look cheap & fragile. Hope they have cracker engines in sporty variants too.

Looks nice. The front is very aggressive (as in the new Amaze). But I'm not sure how the high squarish stubby bonnet will look like in person since Brio is not a very long car. The rear reminds me of the Tiago.

I hope they launch it with the 1.5L diesel engine as well. Can give stiff competition to the Figo diesel.

Tata would be impressed that Honda is taking design cues from it. The back looks like a cut-paste job from the Tata Tiago.

I'm not sure if this is the next-gen Brio. Firstly, the front half (right till the B pillar) is exactly the same as the facelift Mobilio. Secondly, it doesn't look like the new Amaze at all. At least the A pillar would've been similar if this were the new Brio.

I think this is just a one-off concept piece.

I tend to agree. This definitely seems like a concept car. Looks strikingly good, but kinda funny to see a small entry level hatchback with a puny engine and these sporty looks.

I think this is massively facelifted version of the current BRIO. Its not an all new one. See the similarity in side profile which is usually the same in pre facelift and facelifted cars.

My first thought on seeing the image: TIAGO !!

A lot of Tiago, but with sharper lines and grille. Way to go, Tata !

Agreed. Specially the rear three quarter view.

Remove all the jazzy bits thats not going to reach production - and the final version may not be all that different from a Tiago. Not that its bad, as the concept looks much better and simpler as compared to the current generation Brio.

Hope this makes way to our shores soon as the brio is actually a fun car to drive but it's biggest Achilles heel was the non-existent boot.

If that's addressed, and with this improved new look plus decent interiors Honda can expect much better sales numbers. The engine is pretty frugal and fun to drive.

But then a lot will depend on the response they get with the upcoming AMAZE. If they do a 'HONDA' with the pricing, I doubt they will be able to pull it off

Other than the jazzy bits you mentioned, expect -

1) Black alloys to be replaced by silver ones
2) Black strip on front grille to be replaced by chrome!

Don't forget those big chunky wheels + tyres that will be replaced with the puniest Honda can find

I really hope that the new Brio comes to India. And that too with the paddle shifters in petrol CVT and of course, the Brio RS. All new Brio? I highly doubt that. The front door, the front fenders are a straight carryover from the existing Brio. This car is not the same as the new Amaze, and still seems to be based on the previous gen Brio's platform. The looks have certainly improved though and with the new boot design, there seems to be a considerable improvement in boot space too.

Will Honda offer a diesel on the Brio now? I doubt that too, as diesels in small city cars have already started losing the case with current fuel prices.
