Terrific that, in 2018, we are discussing how women have finally been allowed to drive.

Also, that article needs subscription to WSJ.

Ah. The summary is that a lot of car dealerships built up stocks of baby pink coloured cars, small cars, sensible soccer mom SUVs etc - and found that many women preferred fast muscle cars instead.

One woman drives aggressively and honks whenever she sees Arab males driving badly eg while talking on their phones.

Another bought a car so she could drift it.

Re: Saudi women prefer fast and powerful cars

My thoughts, I could be wrong

Currently the initial batch of ladies who can drive in Saudi had licences issued abroad or another GCC country and could pass the test or start driving immediately. The chances are that they would be well off and go for the higher end segments.

The more domesticated ladies are probably learning, facing chauvinism etc. and yet to be in the market for an ordinary car.
