Fiat Fastback SUV concept unveiled at Sao Paulo, likely to be the successor to the Freemont.

It points at a future production model from Fiat that will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and the Nissan Kicks in some international markets.

As for now, this is a concept, there is still little technical information about the new Fiat SUV. It is known that it uses the same platform of Toro and Compass, but will have seven places.

Good to know that Fiat ain't dead yet. While this does not seem to carry much Italian design inspiration that you usually associate the brand with, it is a fresh take on what could be their new design path. Could be a electric drive train too.

Expected to launch in 2021 and price above R $ 100 thousand, Fastback will also debut multimedia center with 12" vertical screen.

Presented at the 2018 Motor Show as a concept, the Fastback revealed some traces of what would be a future SUV version of the Fiat Toro pickup truck. But that's not how it's going to be.

In the so-called project 376, this body in a sport utility will also use the Argo platform and will be based on the design of the project 363,SUV based on the hatch, with the same engines 1.3 Firefly and 1.0 Firefly T3, denomination of new turbo engine, and CVT exchange in the aspirated and conventional automatic with turbo,

The car will debut items such as onboard internet and multimedia center with 12-inch vertical screen. The inspiration is in a tablet, as are the centers of the Volvo and Tesla line

The design flow seem to follow VW's Nivus which is due for launch in June.

Fiat Fastback uses the same MLA platform as Pulse. It uses the GSE 1.0 Turbo engines of 125hp (petrol)/130hp (ethanol) and 20.4Kgfm with simulated 7-speed CVT transmission and GSE 1.3 Turbo of 180(g)/185(e)hp and 27.5kgfm combined with a 6-speed aisin automatic transmission (the same as used in Toro, Renegade, Compass and Commander).

Fiat Fastback Limited Edition by Abarth T270 (R$ 149,990.00/€29.099,71): Impetus equipment + 1.3 turbo engine, darkened details in the bodywork.

Engines and transmissions:
Every Fiat Fastback will be sold with turbo engines and automatic transmission. Thus, the Audace and Impetus input versions will be equipped with the same 1.0 T200 three-cylinder turbo charged Pulse. It delivers 130 hp and 20.4 kgfm of torque, being the most powerful 1.0 turbo in Brazil, but tied in torque with Volkswagen's 1.0 TSI.

According to Fiat, the turbo version 1.0 of the Fastback reaches 100 km/h in 9.4 seconds. Consumption is 8.1 km/l in the city with ethanol and 9.7 km/l with the same fuel in the city. Pulse can score 8.5 km/l in the city and 10.2 km/l on the road also with ethanol. That is, the Fastback makes 0.4 km/l less in the city and 0.5 km/l less on the road.

The Limited Edition Powered by Abarth version bears a gigantic name accompanied by a stronger engine. Exits the 1.0 turbo charged pulse, enters the engine of the Toro (also used by the Jeep Renegade, Compass and Commander). It is the 1.3 T270 four-cylinder turbo flex of 185 hp and 27.5 kgfm of torque.
This is the most powerful 1.3 used in any car sold in Brazil, but draws in torque with renault's 1.3 turbo. Officially the Fastback 1.3 turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. In addition, it is the most economical Model of Stellantis with this engine: it makes 7.9 km/l in the city with ethanol and 11.3 km/l with gasoline. On the road the average is 9.7 km/l and 13.6 km/l, respectively

The 1.0 turbo models use automatic transmission of the CVT type with seven simulated gears. Version 1.3 turbo has the same traditional six-speed automatic transmission used by Toro, Renegade, Compass and Commander in their flex versions.
