11 untouched BMW E34s found in an old Bulgarian factory

As the title says, 11 untouched 1994 5 Series cars have been found in a warehouse in Bulgaria. They are in mostly pristine condition and still have plastic wrapped interiors! The existing owner/dealer got them from a bankrupted Spanish dealer to resell. However, VAT was introduced in Bulgaria in 1995. This combined with some other governmental changes made it difficult for him to sell them. The plan is to auction these cars (expected price of 15k EUR/car).

This model is such a legend, especially the M5. From Wikipedia: "The E34 generation included the first all-wheel drive 5 Series with the 525iX, and the first V8 in a 5 Series. The E34 also saw the introduction of stability control (ASC), traction control (ASC+T) a 6-speed manual transmission and adjustable damping (EDC) to the 5 Series range." Such pristine, vintage finds are so rare. My guess is they are going to have people falling over themselves bidding for these beauties and the expected price is going to be easily exceeded.

German car, untouched for 15+ years (according to the article), now what could go wrong

Can such old cars be registered as new, as we have lot of new emission, safety regulations and so on!

Actually, it'll soon be 25 years . Expect to change all the electrical wiring & rubber parts at the minimum. On the upside, these cars are from a time when electrical gizmos were still limited & the focus was more on the 'mechanical' front. Shouldn't be that tough to get them revving again.

Interesting find!

The E34 s were much simpler back in the day with more traditional mechanical components and less of any fancy electronic gizoms. An extensive service and oil changes should be sufficient to get those beauties back on road.
Sincerely hoping all of them find a passionate owner and be a part of his/her garage
