Land Rover has unveiled a limited production version of the Range Rover Velar called the SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition. It will be on sale for one year only.



The Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition comes with a new front bumper with larger air intakes, a new grille and lower side mouldings. It has a redesigned rear bumper with integrated quad exhaust tips. The Range Rover lettering on the bonnet and tailgate gets a knurled finish. The SUV also gets a transmission tunnel undertray that is claimed to improve its aerodynamics. It rides on 21-inch forged aluminium wheels, while 22-inch wheels in silver sparkle finish are offered as an option.



Coming to the interior, the SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition of the Velar gets twin-stitched, perforated and quilted Windsor leather upholstery. It is available in four colour options - ebony, cirrus, vintage tan and pimento. The car gets a sports steering wheel with aluminium gearshift paddles and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It comes with 20-way adjustable heated and cooled front seats with memory and massage functions as well as a Touch Pro Duo infotainment system with knurled circular control dials. Land Rover is offering an optional carbon fibre pack for the interior, which adds a steel weave, sports pedals and illuminated metal tread plates.



Powering the Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition is a 5.0-litre, supercharged V8 engine that produces 542 BHP. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Land Rover claims that the SUV will do 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and will reach a top speed of 274 km/h. It has 395 mm disc brakes at the front and 396 mm disc brakes at the rear with red brake calipers. It also comes with air suspension and an active exhaust system.

The Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition is available in six colour options - Firenze Red, Santorini Black, Corris Grey, Fuji White, Indus Silver and, by special order, Satin Byron Blue.

What a beautiful SUV this is. Its sad that beauty does not equal to reliability. None the less even if one keeps money aside to maintain this lovely "beauty and the beast" combo, it still would make it an expensive affair since LR cars are never reasonably priced to begin with, especially when pinned in front of its direct rivals. I expect this to face the same fate. That being said on paper it sounds like an all round winner. (both On road and Off road)
