Urus helps Lamborghini nearly double its sales in H1 2019

Lamborghini has almost doubled its sales in the first six months of 2019. It sold 4,553 cars, which is a 96% increase compared to the same period in 2018. It is also higher than the total sales posted in 2017.

Out of 4,553 cars sold, the Urus SUV accounted for 2,693 units, which is more than the sales of the Huracan and the Aventador combined. The Huracan sold 1,211 units while the Aventador sold 649 units.

The United States was Lamborghini's biggest single market followed by China, United Kingdom, Japan, and Germany. America saw the demand increase by 128% to 1,543, while Asia Pacific more than doubled its sales to 1,184 units. The EMEA region, which consists of Europe, Middle East, and Africa, posted an increase of 67% to 1,826 cars.

Well the driving from the first floor feeling is now more popular than the driving from the ground floor feeling. How can the Lambo be left behind in this trend? I wonder if the car handles as well as it's low slung counterpart.

Customers value practicality, even when they're spending big bucks. It's the reason why 90% of Porsche's India sales are from the Cayenne & Panamera. It's also the reason why I think we'll be seeing a Ferrari competitor to the Urus soon.

Just read in today's TOI that Lamborghini India has sold one Urus each for every week of the past 1 year in India. Talk of a market slowdown.

A little over two years on after its market introduction, the Lamborghini Urus SUV has reached its 10,000th unit milestone. The model with chassis number 10,000, destined for Russia, has rolled out in the new Nero Noctis Matt (black) colour, combined with the carbon fibre package and two-tone Ad Personam interiors in black and orange, complemented by carbon fibre components.

This is an absolute no brainer choice if you are shopping with this budget or mentality. An exotic badge, super prestige, performance, practicality. Best of all you won't be "another stiff who can't get out of his sportscar", the seats are at knee level. Monstrous power doesn't hurt either.
