A sporty N Line variant of the Hyundai i10 has been spotted testing.



Although not a full-blown N model, the N Line variant could get updates like dual exhausts, bigger wheels and other cosmetic tweaks. It could also get a stiffer suspension and improved handling. Powering the hatchback could be a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 98 BHP and 171 Nm. The car could compete with the Kia Picanto GT Line. If it gets more power, it could also compete with the Volkswagen UP! GTI.



The European-spec Hyundai i10 is expected to be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which is scheduled to be held next month. The N Line variant could be revealed along with the other variants or could be unveiled at a later date.

As a huge fan of small + quick cars, I am happy to see this treatment on the new i10. Have had the time of my life in hatchbacks like the Figo / Freestyle & Polo GTs on open roads. Hyundai's suspensions are now neutral and the company easily has the know-how to add a bit of "fun" to their N-Lines.

This will be a wonderful addition for India, considering that the i30N is already garnering great reviews (internationally) as a perfect sleeper car.
And if getting to India, I hope Hyundai keep it in its purest form without diluting with India-specific omissions, especially on safety front.

Price it around 8-10 lakhs, and this should be a credible (and refined) alternative to the likes of the Tiago JTP.

Hyundai i10 N Line gets cosmetic updates and a more powerful 99hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

The i10 will become the fourth N Line model, following the i30 hatchback, i30 Fastback and Tucson, when it arrives in 2020. It will be offered with a turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 99hp and 172Nm of torque, making it the most powerful i10 variant on sale.

The large, low profile alloys, and what looks like a lowered suspension does wonders for the posture of the car. The side and rear profile is still a bit basic, but the front looks great.

What remains to be seen is the driving dynamics. Hopefully they would have tuned the steering for better response and feedback.

Hyundai has introduced its most affordable N Line model, the i10 N Line hatchback in Germany. The car has been priced at EUR 18,790. The amount coverts to whopping ₹16.08 lakh in India.
