In 2023, it should be time for the new Skoda Superb.

The fourth generation is based on the next evolutionary stage of the MQB platform and will probably be more sporty than its predecessor and should get a more eye-catching design with a new grill. As a plug-in hybrid, there could be much more range in it.

The flagship is likely to take over the much more square shape from the Enyaq electric SUV. The vertical struts of the grill indicate an arc, which makes the whole thing seem even more powerful. The new light signature narrows the headlights to even narrower slits and the lower air intake is expected to grow slightly. However, it is to be expected that the basic form will be maintained

There should be a plug-in hybrid again.

In the interior, of course, the latest expansion stage of the infotainment is to be expected, probably with an even larger central display and a head-up display with augmented reality.

Then, for example, navigation arrows could be projected virtually onto the road. With the facelift of its predecessor, Skoda has introduced a plug-in hybrid, which is expected to be available in the next generation. Probably with more electric range, currently the Skoda Superb iV manages up to electric kilometers according to WLTP, thanks to an improved battery. There are up to 100 km in the room.
But diesel and gasoline are also likely to be in the portfolio again.

According to the render, I feel that Skoda is following BMW's design language. That large grille with vertical slats makes it evident. The signature kidney-grille of BMW would have looked very much like this had it been a single piece grille. IMO this new superb looks a lot more aggressive than its subtly styled predecessor.

The traditional look and idea of the superb being classy and elegant has been lost here in my opinion. I for one am not a fan of this 2023 generation car. (can be subjective, no offense to anyone).

But surely the plug-in hybrid would be worth looking at as the Indian government is inclined towards getting more electric and hybrid cars to India soon. Hopefully we get to see great EVs on the road in coming years.

Wow, it's really going to be late this time. If Skoda launches it internationally, that means it will be 2024 before the car arrives in India. The current car is already feeling a bit old & bland now - it's going to have it tough as premium customers don't like old designs. There are anyway so many crossovers & SUVs to compete with, and VAG didn't even ready its diesel for BS6.

A prediction with a timeline of 2+ years from now? My god. That's quite far away for the current generation to keep fighting. Not that the current generation is bad in any way. In a way - I see a half filled glass in this too. I hate it when good existing car models are pushed out just to bring a face-lift because that is a norm. Its quite rare to get news about car arrivals planned 2 years in future in today's dynamic world.

For some strange reason though - I first remembered that Whatsapp meme about future predictions - with headlines like "Abhishek Bacchan to star in Dhoom:25". Sorry for the OT & no offence.

I actually like the more aggressive looks of this all new Superb.

A neighbor has brought home a (Lava?) Blue L&K. Did not warm to it when I pass by it everyday. Just doesn't have the elegant looks of the pre-facelift mostly due to the narrower headlights and the 'Joker smile' style front bumper. Also too much chrome.

Maybe the Sportline will look better in the metal.

At the risk of sounding rude, I want to say that this, personally, has to be one of the ugliest grilles on a car coming out of the Skoda stable. It reminds me of a certain German leader *cough*.

I bought the 2020 facelift recently and the thing like the most about the Superb is its proportionate styling, which seems to have carried over here. All subjective, but I am glad they haven't tried something extreme like the new Tucson.

Why call it a new generation when all that VAG seems to be doing is plonk a higher capacity EV battery, do a mash-up grill taken straight from the Enyaq and make the silhouette edges sharper?

They might as well call it the e-Superb

The current Enyaq seems to have decent spec of 55-82 Kwh battery translating to a range anywhere between 400-500 km and a thumping power range of 150-300 bhp.

The prototype uses the body of the existing Superb, but the new elements on the bow indicate that it is more of a test generation of a new generation than a prototype of a possible facelift of the existing design. It is customary for such elements to test the elements of new cars during development using such mules. 2023 Skoda Superb will get all-new interior and VW's final Combustion Engines.

Skoda CEO Thomas Schäfer says, that more fundamental revisions will arrive with the Superb. “The car’s interior is a huge step forward,” he told us. “It will carry our new user language, which extends to what you touch and feel.

We’ll see some elements from Enyaq iV, but we think we need to do more of the traditional controls, not only playing with the biggest display in the industry [a hint that the Superb could feature the Enyaq’s 13-inch screen]

The new Superb will reportedly feature the Volkswagen Group's final combustion engine development.

All-New Mid-Size Sedan Spied in Europe,

it may look like a simple facelift, but beneath the familiar body panels lies a stretched version of the MQB platform, with the nuts and bolts shared with the upcoming Volkswagen Passat.

These won’t be the only things that the two cars will have in common, as they are expected to make use of the same powertrains too. Diesels may not be as popular as they used to be, but Europe is understood to get the 2.0-liter TDI, maybe with different outputs, in front- and all-wheel drive configurations. The 1.5- and 2.0-liter TSI gasoline units should join the range. Look for several mild-hybrids, and maybe one or two plug-in hybrids as well.

The first units might arrive at dealers all over Europe in the second half of 2023.

New details of the 2023 Skoda Superb:

- The model has increase in the height of the length with a modified front, the front beam has been advanced a few millimeters, so it has been tried to disguise with the camouflaged bumper.

-Its design will be an evolution of the current one, as usual in Skoda although with more modern details based on the new style baptized as "Criteria"

-The gain of space will be directed especially to the rear seats, and to the volume of the trunk that will scratch a few more liters.

- This test mule does not show novelties in the interior, retaining the design of the dashboard of the current generation, but this part will face a comprehensive renovation with a much cleaner design and fewer buttons and physical controls.

- Skoda plans to present the two variants of the Superb in mid-2023, with a range of engines that will be more efficient, although there will be no major developments beyond the 48-Volt MHEV technology that will reach gasoline and diesel.

-There will be novelties in the plug-in hybrid, because this time there will be two options and both with the 1.5 TSI Evo gasoline engine, in addition to a lithium-ion battery of greater capacity to offer up to 100 kilometers of autonomy in electric mode.
