you are right, it seems like a Charger...(from the front)

but thats not a bad thing considering if charger and 300C and magnum were made by BMW or MB would deserve the quality that those s3xy looking cars should have always had..

i hated the charger and magnum for their lego style interiors..and even the drive wasnt great..i thought to myself, that if this was made by any german/jap manufacturer, i would be all over it because of everything extra i would have gotten..(i cant like a car with poor interiors)

and BMW is answering my thoughts and prayers..its perfect i think, now my next goal is to get a M8 if there will be one..

I have many M8s...none of them are BMW.

Car looks like a kid's design. Nice, but I prefer a little sophistication. Would I have one? Yes. Would I adore one. Nah.

Overall looks pretty good. The more you look at it, the more you like it.

About the design,

a little too muscular
grille too big
front bumper too small
AWESOME rims

thats the best part, when you make something radical you only use the bare minimum of the old, so the kidney is there and what else do you need..i love it..

You are right, but then there are people who had really been missing the classic BMW lines. They are as important as the Kidney grille. Lot can still be done radically around those lines, it would not suffer an identity crisis.

Infact even for the case of Merc, with the W204 they have omitted the Wide Mercedes C-pillar. Slapping a Kidney grill on that would make it a BMW.

My point is evolution must happen but keeping identity intact (look at your corvette for instance)

i wanted to hate this car but i can't. i think it's gorgeous.
the grille IS too wide (Chryslerish) but the rest of the car looks awesome!

i LOVE the earlier 8-Series BMW's (E31). i've been scouring around for a good late model (preferably 1997) manual transmission equipped 850CSi (850Ci will do too) but it's mighty-difficult to come across one in good condition - they're very rare. the 840's (V8) and 850's (V12) with automatic transmission are easier to get hold off.

this new one looks a little grown up - more luxurious compared to the oldies. it'll be good competition to the bigggies - the Jaguar XK's and the Mercedes SL's.
