Maserati is making a new SUV called the Grecale, which will compete with the Porsche Macan and the BMW X3.
The Grecale will sit below the Levante is the Maserati line up and is expected to go on sale in 2022.
The Grecale is expected to have a V6 hybrid engine.

Maseratis plan for the near future
@Jeroen is gonna like this. His theory of Maserati being a myth is coming true because even Maserati haven't been able to take a proper picture of their own new SUV :uncontrol
The art of camouflaging with blurry photography!
Are we going to see an adaptation of hybrid platform to a BEV in future? Why not do for a dedicated EV platform? Are they in a dilema?
The Maserati Grecale. Does not exactly sound stunning. But I'm pretty sure it would look stunning .
Knowing Maserati , the Grecale would be overpriced. It would contain parts from the Chrysler parts bin. And then you put in the infamous Maserati reliability , the Grecael would not exactly be value.
But at the end of the day it is a Maserati. You buy it for other reasons.

Italians have a bad history in the electrics department.
They are infamous for electric failures. Knowing Maserati's history of horrible electric failures in their cars , the last thing they would want to build is an EV.

Yes, I will not say that its in the past. There are improvements in their reliability of electronics but still a long way to go. They cannot keep swimming in the same pond, when the Oil dries up so does the pond. They need to evolve!
Some Italian suppliers (Magneti Marelli or MTA) that I have experience in interacting with are too damn arrogant to even accept when we point out a mistake or improvement area and the Italian OEMs still go for these overpriced product offerings despite better options.
P.S - I confess that I have applied to Lamborghini in the past 6 times, got a rejected but with proper replies and reasons and not taking out that frustration.

Another ghost story no doubt!
