Re: The 5th-gen 2021 Mercedes-Benz C-Class The new W206 C-Class for the Indian Market has been finally unveiled and is all set for prices to be released on the 10th of May. First look exhibits a scale down of the S-Class like it always has been, and is to be broadly sold in 3 variants- the C200, C220d (in Avant Garde line) and C300d (in AMG Line). A 48V integrated starter generator is offered as standard across all variants for better fuel efficiency to the tunes of 23 kmpl (Tested out on the C220d), 16.9 kmpl (Tested out on the C200), and 20.3 kmpl (Tested out on the C300d).
Speaking of interiors, it's the same story as the S-Class with the latest edition of the fantastically acclaimed MBUX Infotainment System and everything else scaled down from the S-Class. Folks, this is where I see myself a little disappointed. While I completely am in favour of similar levels of technology and aesthetic as the S-Class, this is where the C-Class (and models to come) will lose out on individuality and all of the pleasing design textures, elements, materials and shapes we liked to see in innovation ends right here. It's probably change being the only constant, but let's add Mercedes interiors to the list of constants too now.
Overall, this car was once what used to be the entry point to the luxury automotive world for many (and still is under filtered circumstances) and it's now a great iteration to deliver technology levels of cars higher up in stables at a relatively affordable price. Speaking of which, is rumoured to begin at around 55 Lakhs Ex-Showroom (avg India) Mod Note: Our Mercedes C-Class Review has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!
