| Hyundai unveils its first-ever pickup truck, the Santa Cruz Hyundai Santa Cruz unveiled as crossover-style pick-up The Santa Cruz has a front end that's similar to the 2022 Tucson by adopting daytime running lights that incorporate cleanly into the grille design.     Santa Cruz's bed floor measures 52.1 inches (132.3 centimeters) long. A portion of the bed also lifts up to reveal a hidden storage area   The Santa Cruz comes standard with a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder produces 190 hp and 244 Nm paired to an eight-speed automatic with all-wheel drive, and this setup can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The optional engine is a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder producing 275 hp and 420 Nm paired to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic that includes steering wheel mounted paddle shifters for manually changing gears. All-wheel drive is standard, and the turbo model can tow upto 5,000 pounds.     Driving modes   Source |

| Re: USA: Hyundai to develop a Pickup Truck 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz Pick-up Truck unveiled Hyundai will soon be making its debut in the pick-up truck segment, with the introduction of the all-new Santa Cruz. The new (2022) Hyundai Santa Cruz pick-up truck is based on the concept that was showcased 6 years back in 2015.  The new Hyundai Santa Cruz pick-up truck seems to be heavily inspired by the latest-generation Tucson SUV. The pick-up truck carries forward a similar front end, especially the front grille with the integrated LED daytime running lights and the main LED headlamp unit positioned below.  The pick-up truck also comes with prominent skid plates at the front, while the sides feature extended wheel arches, housing 20-inch alloys. The black cladding extends all the way to the rear as well, adding a level of ruggedness to its overall appeal. The interiors of the pick-up come packed with features and equipment. Some of the key features in the cabin include a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system (upgradable to 10-inches) with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, steering-mounted controls, different driving modes and plenty of other safety equipment.  The 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz is also said to be based on a monocoque, in place of the ladder-on-frame chassis, which usually underpin pick-up trucks. This is the same platform that also underpins the Tucson. However, unlike the SUV, the Santa Cruz will come with a standard AWD system, instead of the FWD on the Tucson.  The new Hyundai Santa Cruz pick-up is offered with a choice of two engine options. The first is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine producing 190 BHP / 244 Nm, paired with an 8-speed hydraulic automatic transmission. This variant has a towing capacity of 1,588 kg. There is also another 2.5-litre turbocharged engine churning out a higher 275 BHP / 420 Nm, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. | Re: Hyundai unveils its first-ever pickup truck, the Santa Cruz The North American market Hyundai Santa Cruz achieves IIHS' coveted Top Safety Pick Award when fitted with specific headlights, but misses out on the TSP+ Award since the 'Good' rated headlights are available only as optional and not standard (other headlights are rated 'Poor').  The model was tested for side impact in the original IIHS configuration and not the updated 2021 side test (which is not a 2021 Top Safety Pick criterion but might be starting from 2022).
