BMW F3 : competition to Mercedes B class?

Got these BMW F3 pics in email. It's rumoured to be a Mercedes B class competitor.

To me, Merc B looks better than BMW F3. Will this beember be FWD or RWD? Merc B is FWD. I don't know if BMW ever made any FWD cars.

Wouldnt it be called the X1, or is that another model?

that doesnt look too shabby, infact a good looking small suv..i like the X1 and this B class contender..
