It is powered by a mid mounted 3.0L twin turbo V6 putting out 653 hp combined with an electric motor that outputs another 164 hp for a combined max output of 830 hp going to the rear wheels. Claimed 0-100kph time is 2.9 seconds and 0-200 comes up in 7.3 seconds.

Prices are expected to start at $ 250,000.

Looks so damn nice & clean . I have to admit, some of the newer Ferraris don't appeal to me at all. They either look too weird or like spaceships. On the other hand, the GTB looks fab.

I think we're past "peak IC engine". V12s have disappeared, V10s are disappearing, AMGs & Porsches are being introduced with 4-cylinders and now, a Ferrari with a 6-cylinder . No matter what one says, a 6 will never match an 8 in creaminess or sound. Sucks. Incredible power numbers though from a 3.0 V6.

830 hp is just mad. Like seriously mad. I must say this has a really neat and smooth design.

I don't really mind the V6 .

I personal like this simple interior. Looks much better than the one you get with the Roma.

Over all a good car.

Only thing left to see is how this stacks up against the Altura.

In Ferrari's defence , the legendary Dino had a V6. And by my understanding this is supposed to be the modern Dino or something.

The front style is much better when compared to the models that Ferrari has put out in the last few years. The rear lights looks like a Ferrari no doubt. However Ferrari cars, appearance wise are still yet to get that jaw dropping attention they got back in the good old days.

Re: Ferrari unveils 296 GTB | Its first ever 6-cylinder supercar

This is a classic Roma silhouette without Roma's garish grill and its split headlights, but the rear haunch and vent integration somehow doesn't look nice to my eyes. Overall I like the nice, clean design!

The performance figures look neat!

Rant: Ferrari needs to come up with better interiors though

So this is smack in between the Roma and the F8 pricing.

To put things into perspective for our market- The Roma is 3.6cr, F8 is 4cr hence the 256GTB will come in at 3.8cr in all probability.

For a mere 5% more, most would pick the F8 V8 over the V6 256GTB even though they have identical performance figures.

While Ferrari claims the 256GTB is not replacing any model, it will eventually cut supplies of the F8 and compel people to get the 256GTB instead thereby cannibalising it.

Re: Ferrari unveils 296 GTB | Its first ever 6-cylinder supercar

For an entry level Ferrari, this is just way too much power. 600 hp would have been perfect. I don't like the holes on the headlights though. Other than that, it's a beautiful design. Just imagine this car with a twin-turbo V8. That would be the perfect blend of performance and fun.

McLaren artura looks better in this league. And it looks similar to other McLarens. This barely looks similar to the sf90. The vent in the rear reminds of the ford gt40 though. Rest of it looks like a catfish to me.

But then, old man Ferrari himself did not consider the Dino to be a true Ferrari either. That's why the Dino never received the Ferrari badge. I have even read that on the first brochures, Dino was marketed as "almost a Ferrari".

In any case, I think given where we are headed, the demise of the larger capacity engines is inevitable. Downsizing is the keyword here, and we should expect more manufacturers to follow suit. The power outputs are certainly incredible, and I am sure because of the electric powertrain, the acceleration and speeds would be just as good, if not better with this. Nothing can and ever will match the sheer drama of a V12 at full song, and that is just such a pity.

Lots of other interesting trickery going on here as well. The aero package is very interesting, with some tricks which seem to have been taken out of LaFerrari's playbook, such as the front active splitter.

I have seen a lot of mixed reviews for the design though. Some people are saying that the rear haunches and air intake seem to be lifted from the Ford GT - a full circle if you will. In any case, the more you stare at them, they do feel a bit out of sync with the rest of the design IMO. Not as clean of a design as the Roma. The rest is pretty good, and I particularly like the integration of the spoiler with the tail lamps at the back.

A Blu Pozzi Ferrari 296GTB has already landed in Mumbai for the launch.

Another 296GTB is headed to Delhi for the launch event soon.

In another news, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica launch is also around the corner. A Huracan Tecnica has arrived in Delhi for the launch event.
