A salvage-titled Ferrari 488 Pista attracts bids of over a quarter-million at New York auction!

A Salvage-titled 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista has been listed for auction on Copart. Although the Italian supercar has been severely damaged in a crash, it has managed to attract bids of over a quarter-million dollars.

According to the listing, the salvage-titled Ferrari 488 Pista has an estimated retail value of over US$ 490,000. While the listing does state the supercar as 'salvage', it is said that the car can still be driven.

Most of the damage is on the rear and will need quite a number of parts replaced, over and above the US$ 274,000 bid it has already acquired. The damaged parts include the rear bumper, tailgate, diffusers, side body panels and tail lights. The car can be seen with some damage on the front wheel arches as well.

The Ferrari 488 Pista is powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine producing 710 BHP which is paired with an automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

Sad to see her, sitting there quietly like a Falcon with a broken wing.
Though damaged, she easily conveys the promise of high flight. Only if someone would put her right.

I hope she finds a good home, where the owner will love and cherish her.

Visited the Copart site. Seems like they auction cars that have been in accidents and mishaps. The yellow Ferrari 488 Pista shown here is a June 2019 model (on Stamp plate) that has only 1260 miles on the odometer. Seems like a good deal for someone who can build this car back up. After all it looks like mainly body panel damage around that rear quarter. Have seen cars in far worse accidents been built up.
