Renault unveils Dacia Jogger 7-seater MPV; a successor to the Lodgy

Renault's sub-brand Dacia has globally unveiled the all-new Jogger MPV. The new Dacia Jogger is the brand's most affordable 7-seater MPV to date. The Jogger will be sold as a Renault in certain international markets and is said to be the spiritual successor to the Lodgy.

In terms of styling, the new Dacia Jogger is said to be inspired by the brand's Bigster concept. Dacia states that the new Jogger blends the practicality of an estate with the spaciousness of an MPV and the styling of an SUV.

The Dacia Jogger measures 4,547 mm in length and has a ground clearance of 200 mm. The MPV is based on Renault's CMF-B platform, which also underpins the Dacia Sandero hatchback. However, the wheelbase has been extended by 300 mm to make space for the third row of seats.

The Jogger MPV comes with LED lighting all around, vertically-stacked tail lights, black body cladding all around, roof rails and scuff plates.

On the inside, the Dacia Jogger comes with a floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multifunction steering wheel, soft-touch materials all around, 60:40 split seats for the middle row, removable third row, and plenty of other features and equipment. The Jogger also offers 160 litres of boot space with the third row in place, which can be extended to 708 litres when the last row is removed.

Powering the Dacia Jogger is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. It produces 108 BHP and 200 Nm. Renault will also offer the Dacia Jogger with a 99 BHP LPG-powered engine, while a hybrid powertrain is also scheduled to arrive sometime in 2023. This hybrid powertrain is said to be in the form of a 1.6-litre petrol unit with two electric motors and a 1.2 kWh battery pack. Transmission options will include both manual and automatic gearboxes.

Looks like a grown up Triber. Don't think this will come to India though.

Dacia Jogger Euro NCAP ratings to be published on 3 March 2022, appears on Euro NCAP website, expect it to share rating with Dacia Sandero/Logan perhaps with additional verification tests for possible exceeding of weight tolerance, and third row head protection device coverage.
