Ferrari SP48 Unica unveiled: A one-off supercar based on the F8 Tributo

Ferrari has taken the wraps off its latest one-off supercar, the SP48 Unica. The new Ferrari SP48 Unica is based on the brand's F8 Tributo supercar but with completely different bodywork, developed as a custom build for a specific client.

In terms of design, the SP48 Unica comes with a sleek front end with slim LED headlamps, newly designed alloy wheels, black embellishments on the side skirts, quad taillights with LED bars and the absence of the rear windshield, allowing for seamless integration between the roof and the rear deck lid.

The one-off supercar also comes with a 'SP48 Unica' emblem on the dashboard, a spacious centre console and a digital instrument cluster.

That looks like a wet dream for someone wanting McLaren labelled as Ferrari.

How does this customization business work exactly? Does Ferrari have no say in design elements in such specials, like the legendary quad tail lamps (which are already losing their shape) but in this case it hardly looks like a Ferrari anymore.

Is it me or does this one looks a bit like new Tesla Roadster? Maybe both are rendered with the same colour scheme.

You spoke my mind there....in the quest for aerodynamic efficiency and down force, Ferrari is losing its originality (Art in motion) and starting to look like McLaren.

Fortunately this will end up in that one guy's garage in tropical rainforest, never to be driven or seen again in public.

After a decade or two some magazine will dig it up and write "forgotten Ferraris of our era" article where they will discuss how Ferrari took inspiration from all the popular super cars of the time...
