The new MINI CLUBMAN Picss....Are you kidding me??!

Firstly I must say that the new Mini is UGLY....those squint eyed head-lamps (I DONT LIKE....)makes its look very Morgan Aero8'ish (which I like but not this), may-be its a personal thing but seriously this one is over the top. I've been hearing and reading/seeing renderings of the mini Clubman (Mini's GT version), until I actually saw these spy pics. Honestly there's NOTHING "MINI Cooper" or "Mini" about it except the badge. It definitely looks ugly. Maybe it'll handle well like all mini's do (i'm a great fan of the original and the revised models uptil last years) but then doesn't that make the mini loose its image? Its like PORSCHE going out and making a Station-wagon.
Would you like that?
What y'all think?
Should Manufacturers do this to the image of such classics to make more money?

And yes the rear does open like a GODREJ CUP-BOARD !

Well this designs been doing the rounds from the days of the first new Mini. Hardly any surprise there, if you remember they had even shown two such concepts earlier. Once at the Tokyo Motor Show and one at another show (Frankfurt I think) which had highlighted the Clubman shape with a British interpratation - Tea Cups, China et al!! & a Japanese interpratation.

Unintentional though it may be, the two pics in the first post look like they are stitched togather. Looks like two toy clubmans are racing on a track while a real vehicle is parked on the shoulder.

The new one actually is not really mini.. its quite big.. These minis however have superb power to weight ratios....

Dont mind getting my hands on last years model. The ones in "Italian job".

Keyword - MORRIS MINI PANEL WAGON (wonder why they're calling it the clubman as " CLUBMAN was from the LEYLAND line of minis, it was another version of the mini)

The have always had these different chassis designs of the morris mini all over the world back then. there are tons of these panel wagons, utes, flatbeds chopper design minis in australia as well..

but back then they were practical..paying $25,000 plus for a mini panel wagon doesnt make sense at all..

some panel wagons for sale - eBay Motors Australia: Buy and sell cars, motorcycles parts, boats and more

If it is the station wagon version then its ok.

Errr.. I like it. The one in the pics posted here. Is it just me or does no one here liked this new one?? Might be a little big but its pretty good! Maybe its one of those designs which you start liking the more you see it! I liked this one..

to be honest i dont see how else you could make a mini stationwagon look any better...the original mini clubman was a wagon, and in other guises was also called the traveller and countryman. They were kinda cool back in the day (cmon, its a mini after all...it HAS to be cool!)

Sure, a regular mini looks more pleasing but how else do you want a wagon to look? Methinks i quite like it.
