Next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class patent images leaked before unveil

Mercedes-Benz has been working on the next-generation E-Class for a while now, with camouflaged test mules spotted on a number of occasions. However, ahead of its expected arrival in either 2023 or early 2024, patent images of the final iteration of the next-gen E-Class have been leaked online.

As per the images, the new-gen E-Class looks similar to the outgoing model, albeit with a few revisions and updates. These include a new front grille, sleeker LED headlamp setups and tail lights inspired by the larger S-Class sibling.

Inside, the new E-Class is expected to come with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a large portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, along with a host of other features and tech.

In terms of powertrain options, the new-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be offered with mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engines. Reports suggest a plug-in hybrid version could also be offered on the higher trims. The AMG versions of the E-Class will also be powered by 4-cylinder electrically-assisted powertrains.

This looks more like a C LWB rather than an E!

This just looks like another extended C.

I was happy that at least they didn't use the same tail lights in the E as they use in S and C, but the leaked pics of next gen E have the same!

If this is how it goes, the priciest and the cheapest sedan of Mercedes won't have any differentiation be it the interiors or the exteriors(especially back side)!

When I saw the facelifted E, I wondered what what Merc are going to do with the new gen. What they are doing it seems, is to just replace the interiors and sell it as another gen.

PS: The facelifted E already looks like an enlargened C. Since the last two generations, Mercedes is suffering from an identity issue.

Mercedes Benz has to stop this whole Matryoshka Dolls design language (Very lazy and very uninspiring). The E-Class now looks like a swollen C Class and the S Class will now look like an Obese E Class.

Family look doesn't mean scaling up. The C Class, E Class and S Class all had unique personalities at least until 7 years ago.
