Audi TT sports car to be discontinued after 25 years of production; Final edition unveiled

Audi will be pulling the plug on the production of its small two-door sports coupe, the TT, in 2023. The car was first unveiled in 1995 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, before heading into production in 1998. The German carmaker confirmed that 2023 will be the last model year for the TT, as the sports coupe completes 25 years of being on sale.

However, before it goes out of production, Audi has unveiled the 'Final Edition' version of the TT. The 2023 Audi TT Final Edition will be offered in the UK from March, with deliveries said to begin in April. The final edition iteration will get a black-styling pack to help it differentiate from the standard model. The pack includes black badging, exhaust tips and a spoiler. The Roadster version of the TT Final Edition will come with black rollover hoops and a black wind diffuser.

Inside, the TT Final Edition gets a mix of Alcantara & leather upholstery with red contrast stitching on the seats & steering wheel, as well as red piping on the floor mats. The Final Edition comes with Audi's 'Technology Pack', which offers features such as Sat-Nav and Audi Connected Infotainment Services. Customers also get the comfort and sound pack as standard, which adds features like an upgraded sound system, reversing camera and other parking aids.

The Final Edition will be offered across the TT range, apart from the RS version. Audi is said to offer the TT Final Edition at a starting price of around 41,000 GBP, all the way up to 54,685 GBP for the top-spec TTS Coupe. The equivalent Roadster version is also available for a 1,750 GBP premium.

Reports state that though the 'Audi TT' name will live on, it will be used on an all-electric SUV.
