R34 Skyline GT-R from Fast & Furious 4 maybe the most expensive publicly sold Skyline

According to media reports, the Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R driven by Paul Walker in the Fast & Furious 4 movie went up for auction recently. The iconic car has now been sold for a whopping US$1.357 million, including a buyer's premium. The million-dollar price tag, as per reports, appears to be a record for a publicly-offered Skyline.

The Skyline GT-R is the R34 model, one of the most desirable generations of the Japanese sports car. To add to this, the R34 is painted in the iconic colour of 'Bayside Blue', made popular by the Fast & Furious movie franchise. The Skyline is said to be the real deal, being the only GT-R model to appear in the film and done up to Paul Walker's exact specifications. All other stunt cars used in the movie were said to be Skyline GT-Ts modified to look like GT-Rs.

With most other Skyline auctions being held privately, reports suggest that it is tough to determine if this is the most expensive GT-R model. However, with the car's connections to Paul Walker and the Fast and Furious movie franchise, it is definitely among the most desirable of the lot.

As a teenager, Brian's green Mitsubishi Eclipse in Fast & the Furious and silver R34 GT-R in 2 Fast 2 Furious captured my imagination like no other car or movie had done before. Still remember those cars more than the subsequent movies in this amazing franchise.
