Now this looks significantly better. Considering that toyota's new design language has been very good lately, with the new Prado, the Crown, the Prius, the Hycross all looking more upmarket than their previous iterations, we can hope that it looks more like this.

2025 Toyota Camry goes hybrid-only, loses V6 for a singular hybrid setup that combines an inline-four to two electric motors.



The 2025 model rides on the same TNGA-K platform that was underneath the eighth-generation model. However, there is a reworked suspension with new shocks and revised tuning. The automaker touts the setup as offering "enhanced responsiveness and agile handling."

The big Camry news for 2025 is that the compact sedan is going hybrid-only, and that the hybrid system is no longer restricted to front-wheel drive models. Both the front-drivers and the AWD cars use the same basic 2.5-liter inline four, augmented by two electric motors, but while the front-wheel drive version generates a combined 225 hp (228 PS), the all-wheel drive car makes 232 hp (235 PS). The all-paw Camry is, in fact, nominally front-wheel drive, the AWD capability coming from a third, rear-mounted electric motor that chimes in when needed.

Toyota hasn’t revealed performance figures for the new engines, but it does say the hybrid system has been tuned to reduce engine revs

Looks like a heavily reworked version of the current model. Expected as the current model was an all new generation, unlike the late 2000s till mid 2010s generations, all three of which were heavily reworked of their previous generation.

And they have took the Crown styling and applied it liberally to the front end and interiors. Was expecting a 'Prime' plug in hybrid version or the new 2.4l turbo since the V6 has been dropped.

Waiting to see how the luxury Asian version would look like.

Love it! Makes sense on the hybrids - like Honda. Even the GCC market is moving towards Toyota hybrids (C-HR, highlander etc are available only as hybrids), so makes sense to shift to hybrids as a standard instead of sticking to pure EVs. Wonder if these are plug-in hybrids.

This might be my next car, depending on some personal stuff I need to sort.

This version ended with the 2017 model year (sold separately in GCC & Australia as the Aurion with a V6). The current gen is mostly the same across markets while in the GCC, they replaced the Aurion by bringing back the Camry V6.

Do I see an organ type accelerator peddle? Funny since companies like Škoda are moving away from this for cost cutting. The Hyundai sonata has the organ type peddle for a couple of generations now.

Looks like a pretty minor evolution, especially when seeing the side profile.

I'm quite surprised it has not got the optional 2.4 turbo engine as rumored previously.

Agreed the difference is negligible post TNGA. Most likely just some more chrome and foglights. And beige interiors with powered rear seats.

The present Camry too has an organ type accelerator. I guess most of the TNGA-K platform based vehicles and expensive Toyotas/Lexus (except the BoF models) have organ type accelerator now.

Regarding Skodas, maybe it is a VAG family thing. Even in Audi, except for the 1st gen Q3 and the R8, all Audis have the suspended accelerator pedal. So more parts sharing/modular platform means Skoda too gets the suspended ones now.

The current-gen Camry recently got a major update for India and continues to sell in decent numbers. The new-gen model won’t come to India anytime soon and a market launch can be only expected in the second half of next year.

Since V6 is getting axed, it is surprising that 2.4turbo is not mentioned, may be it will come at a later stage.

Camry engine specifications will give a preview of what engines are lined up Lexus ES. I'm hoping that the next Lexus ES will have an option of 2.4Turbo here in India.

Not sure, since Indian market Lexus get the humdrum engine options.

Looking at how the engine option hierarchy of the Land Cruiser Prado J250 and Lexus GX550 worked out, looks like the Camry will get the 2.5l hybrid only, while the Lexus ES will get option of both 2.5l hybrid and the new 2.4l turbo (both ICE and hybrid) atleast in international market. In India, they may well continue to offer the same engine of the Camry. Then again, they are offering both the 2.5l hybrid and 2.4l turbo hybrid in the RX for India.
