Porsche to globally unveil next-gen Panamera by this year-end

According to media reports, Porsche has confirmed that the next-gen Panamera will be unveiled globally by this year's end. The new Porsche Panamera will be the model's third-gen iteration and is expected to feature significant upgrades while carrying forward the signature design elements.

The new Panamera will also be the first Porsche to wear the brand's latest badge, which was revealed just a couple of days back.

The new third-gen Panamera, codenamed 972, will continue Porsche's long tradition for small evolutionary changes, with subtle progresses in exterior design. The car has been spied testing on multiple occasions, featuring a front-end similar to the current-generation model. What has changed though is the tail lights and the rear spoiler. Interiors of the upcoming Panamera will also see a significant update, in terms of dashboard layout, features and connected tech. However, details of the cabin changes are still unknown.

The new Panamera is expected to be powered by the updated versions of its twin-turbocharged 2.9-litre V6 and 4.0-litre V8 engines, paired with mild-hybrid tech. A heavily revised plug-in hybrid powertrain could also be adopted by the Panamera, which will also power the brand's 4th-gen Cayenne SUV.

Once launched in the market, the new-gen Porsche Panamera will rival the likes of the BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz CLS.
