AM1000 & AM800

Hi,I dont know if you guys know but I am into customizing Mercedes Benz Cars. So in the quest of finding new ways to enahance this great machine I landed in Singapore. After doing some research on the net I got the name and address of the FAB DESIGN showroom in Singapore. FAB DESIGN is a Swiss based After Market Tuner for Mercedes, along the lines of Brabus/Lorinser and Carlsson. Their dealers for South East Asia are Automobil Manufactur. So one fine morning I landed up at their showroom with some questions about their Body Kits and Rim and Tyre set up for a W-211. I was met by Mr Stefan Goldschmith the General Manager there who very kindly took me around the showroom and then introduced me to the following.

Ladies n Gentlemen, please let me introduce you to the AM 1000.

To create the above monster, they pick up a SL 600 from Mercedes Benz and then modify the V12 to an extent that at the end of the day it pumps out 745 BHP and 1000 Nm of Torque(hence the name AM1000). Then they Gull Wing the doors with hydraulic pumps and add 20 in Fab Design Wheels to this monster. The finishing touch is the Awesome looking Centre Exhaust.
And Voila one of the most exciting looking and high performing SL's is Reborn. This is a limited edition version and only 60 of them are going to be made.
O-60 in 3.8 secs and approx price is 3,00,000 Euros.

And now the AM 800

To create this monster they pick up regular E55 from AMG which pumps out about 476 BHP and create a beast which pumps out 630 BHP and 800 Nm of Torque. And guess what the AM 800 comes with Limited Slip Differential which Stefan claimed does not come even on the SLR.At a press of the accelerator pedal the whole back whips out. Had the pleasure of being driven around a Singapore Freeway in this machine and only one word came to mind EXHILIRATING. The performance was out of this world. A sedan that you can transport the kids to school in and drag race on the week-ends.O-60 in 4.2 secs. My mind was numb at the end of the whole experience. Top speed is 325 km/hr as claimed by Fab Design.

Also had the pleasure of being driven on the same freeway in a 911 Turbo (996 series) modified by RS tuning to 780 BHP.
Automobil Manufactur is also the dealer for Pagani Zonda for SE Asia. They had one machine there which I had the honour to click snaps of. They wouldnt take me for a drive as i was by appointment and invitation only.

They also had a Mclaren F1 and some Ferraris standing the workshop which they let me click pics of.

All in all a very fruitful and exciting day for a car buff like me.

wow! those are some awesome cars you've seen and I hope you have learnt most things out there. Would love to see you revamp a Mercedes Benz like that and leave it loose on Mumbai roads. That'd be a cool treat for Team BHP!

and the Speed Run 2005 is almost here now.....

Well I really wsh I could do that to some Merc here, but the mods that you see on the AM 1000 and the AM 800 are too extensive and can be only worked out in their workshop. They have a package for the E240 which makes it pump out 330BHP and that can be done in India.

Damn Damn Damn! Pagani ZONDA!!!!!! Man, those are totally awesome pics. And what an amazing outing you had. That car is already on my top 10-12 car list, and how!

Isn't it the convertible BTW? If it is, it does look best in that yellow shade. I wish you could have gotten a chance to open the car up and take some pics of that lovely interior and glorious V12. Nevertheless, your whole day at FAB Design makes me wanna head there for a similar eye-fest.

E240 producing 330 hp! Stunning! Now who needs that SL500 anymore.

ya the black one is the TR. The 328/348 have different side vents. Also the 328/348 dont have such wide rear fenders.
Cool pics S600. Maybe its just me but somehow i dont like those Lambo-type wheels on the E. The triangular exhausts on the SL look really amazing.
