Audi R16

Don't worry there isn't a new Audi called the R16. It's called the Audi R8 GT3. The people at Audi just like to call it the R16 to rub it into the faces of people who bought the R8.

Here are the technical details:

"the GT3 version of the R8 will pump out 500 horsepower, all of which will be sent through a sequential sport six-speed gearbox, exclusively to the rear wheels."

"Other changes include a revised front fascia, racing-spec wheels and tires and a large rear wing to help keep the R8 GT3 glued to the tarmac. The R8 GT3 will use the majority of the R8’s stock suspension pieces."

"R8 GT3 will be available for customers to buy in the fall of 2009"

In my opinion this is one mean looking machine.

Power going to only two wheels will mean more fun and possibly better 0-60 times but cornering capacity will suffer. IMO the audi R8 is the only car that could roughly compete with Nissan's GTR's performance and still be vaguely close to the price range.
But then again, if chevy could do it with the ZR1 then it doesnt seem impossible that they pull off similar/better performance on a RWD, as long as it puts all the power down to the ground, its all good.
They do need to get a new spoiler though, also i feel they could've done a much better job with the hood, regardless, Audi R8 exhause note = win, and this one could be even better
