I made my Lamborghini Countach in my basement

Digg:

Seventeen years ago, Ken Imhoff watched Cannonball Run and became so enamored with the Lamborghini Countach in the film, he hand-built his own, in his basement. In what we imagine might be the most Jalopnik build ever undertaken, Ken designed and fabricated his own tig-welded frame, installed a thoroughly massaged 351 cubic inch V8 with a ZF-25 5-speed transmission, hand-formed the aluminum body over a meticulously measured and accurate body form, and finished it all off in a beautiful metallic gray. It took Ken 10 years to complete the project

Phenomenal.
Ive seen some of these kit car projects that look like they were built in someone's basement. Not this one, though. The attention to detail is mindboggling. It's like this car just rolled off the production line yesterday.

Hats off to this guy. Wonder how his relationship with his wife is, though.

Yeah, that was big on jalopnik...and it's probably way more interesting and reliable than a standard Countach.

Hmmm... The Cannonball Run inspiration. Well, must say it did give me an insight into the exotics available too. Nice to know that this person went ahead and built one to realize his dream. Great Job this. Splendid indeed.
