satya, I chose to ignore the companies that make the same models as others under sifferent names for now. This is the first stage, and we shall slowly progress from the basic main manufacturers and iron out some obvious gaps.

I shall include Daewoo, Oka, and now I remember, Beijing( which makes jeeps), Aro, and GAZ.
And ZIL.

REQUEST TO ANY MODERATOR. FOR SOME REASON, I AM NOT ABLE TO EDIT MY PREVIOUS LIST, MY OWN POST!!!! SO I AM FORCED TO RE-POST THE LIST. I AM NOT DOING THIS ON PURPOSE!!!! BEAR WITH ME.

The Diamler owned by Jaguar does not exist any more, and the German Diamler was integrated into mercedes, and the usage of its name stopped, in 1927.

Please include Iran Khodro. There are also a whole range of Chinese manufacturers making duplicate Toyotas - I've seen a duplicate Hiace Van, a duplicate of the older Corolla, a duplicate of the Matiz, and duplicates of several Renaults.........all with funny chinese names which you only notice when you get real close to the car...

VW now owns the Daimler brand. The british Daimler that was part of RR, not the Daimler in Daimler-Chrysler.

They still sell Daimlers.

I have chosen not to include manufacturers making liscenced versions of outdated models of bigger manufacturers, or duplicates, or other branches of big companies with different names, for now.

Sivadas, Plymouth was killed some time ago, the Prowler was their last model.

And Steeroid,
There was a plan to sell the new XJ's as Jags and Daimlers but I thought it was axed.
And now I learn VW owns it. What do they make nowadays anyway? Coach-built stuff or something?

As far as I know, Jaguar still owns the Daimler brand. I don't know how you got that idea that it's now a part of the VW group? VW owns Bentley. Daimler is dormant at the moment, but Jaguar had stated a while ago that it was not dead. It will make a comeback in the near future.
