BRABUS W212 E-Class

BRABUS W212 E-Class Tuning Program Revealed

Brabus is not taking any chances as it aims to stay ahead of its tuning rivals. It was this year that Mercedes-Benz released the W212 series E-Class range but Brabus has already unveiled a tuning program for it.

The specific E-Class model toping the new programme is the E 500 which has had its 5.5-litre V8 increased to 6.1-litres (372 cu. in.). Along with the increased displacement is a special crankshaft and larger pistons. Additionally the cylinder heads are optimized for mixture flow, and fitted with special camshafts. High-efficiency metal catalysts are also part of the engine conversion.

Extracted performance adds up to 462hp (340kW) of peak power and 615Nm (453 lb-ft) of maximum torque. It is fitted with a limited slip differential that helps to access all this power. As a result, 0 - 100km/h takes 4.7 seconds and the top speed is 305km/h (191mph).

The new Brabus E-Class will be available with light alloy wheels ranging from 17- to 20-inches. For the 20-inch option the Pirelli or Yokohama tyre sizes are 245/30 ZR 20 up front and 285/25 ZR 20 at the rear. Brabus has developed a suspension kit that allows for a range of settings, including sporty and very comfortable.

The exterior is differentiated by features such as LED daytime running lights, chrome-plated tailpipes, aluminium front sport fender panels and a custom Brabus front apron. Luxury items found in the interior include a multimedia system with an integrated 7-inch LCD display and a DVD player. Full Brabus leather and Alcantara make the interior a sporty yet comfortable space.

Coming soon are Brabus-tuned CDI BlueEFFIENCY turbo diesel and E 350 BlueTEC models.

Sonata/Accord rear. The old E looked great. The squarish lights go along with the other one.

And car does nt look aggressive for that those numbers.

There is nothing that can be done to save this car from the pages of my Ugly Book. And before you negatively quip, I tend to include myself in it too. Ha.

Well my eternal fav still remains my handle - The Brabus E V12. This new Brabus looks spectacularly...simple.

But here's something that's got me smitten of late:

The black Brabus looks like an American saloon.Maybe the next gen STS.lol..Squarish proportions look simple..but not too distinctive enough for a Merc

Lorinser has tossed out some scanty details of its upcoming tuning kit for the 2010 Mercedes E-Class, and we've got the first leaked photos of the modified W212 Mercedes.

As seen in the previous sketched that have been released, a grille reminiscent of that worn by the C-Class Sport is used, transforming the front end of the new E-Class. The front spoiler is also more aggressive and features larger air intakes. Side skirting emphasizes the fender flares, and a set of Lorinser RS 9 light-alloy wheels fills the wheel wells. At the rear, a roof spoiler and rear bumper diffuser with quad exhaust outlets distinguish the muscular sedan's tail.

The top-rated Lorinser E 500 will boast a healthy performance boost as well, thanks to new cams, an upgraded exhaust and revised engine control. Horsepower is up to 435, from the stock 388, with torque jumping from 530 Nm to 570. Lorinser claims a 280 km/h top speed. The tuner also plans upgraded versions of the diesel-powered E Class models. To help contain the additional power, the suspension has been lowered.

We've also got some sketches of the upcoming E Class Coupe, as repackaged by Lorinser. The performance modifications are reportedly similar to those of the sedan, but the coupe is more aggressively styled, with the drawings appearing to show a full widebody kit.

The Lorinser W212 E-Class modification program is expected to go on sale at the end of April.
