It certainly is biased report. In India we have almost 60-70% small cars and we do drive on the highways. There are no major accidents barring a few incidents. The safety of the vehicle and passengers depends on the driver.

It is a biased and to an extent a pointless report. As long as small car drivers drive them like they are meant to be driven, they are safe. Like we have seen in the 'Accidents' thread, any car when driven beyond limits can prove to be fatal, from the Maruti 800 to the Merc S Class.

This is a clear and shameless move by the 'big 3' to push their gas guzzling monsters. Accepted, a small percentage of us do require large cars and suvs, but most people need nothing more than comfortable, reasonably powerful and efficient small cars to get us from A to B.
The fact that they have to resort to dirty tricks like this to sell their cars show that they are well aware that they may shortly become 'the companies formerly known as the big 3'.
