So boys and girls, gentlemen and gentlebeasts, i am back with my top list once again. This time it is hatchbacks. Those tiny lil cars that you, me, ur sis, ur bro, ur mum and even ur dad started out with.

All u need to do is get ur list of 5 hatches that have appealed to u since u could hold a pencil firmly in your hand. It isn't much to ask for, but what are these rules? Bend them, and ur post will be bombarded by all posters for going against the rules. Guaranteed.

1. God made the world. God made trees and he made plants. Plants are smaller varieties of trees. So for heaven's sake if u think a sedan is a hatchback, be sure to be besotted by my ugly tongue lashing (in this case keyboard lashing).

2. God made the world. Then he made women. If u think hot coupes or convertibles or even sports cars make up for the sore eyes u developed since u haven't seen a hot woman (in case of the ladies, its men) in days, you need psychiatric help. I have a number of a psychiatrist. Or just write the names of hatchbacks please!

3. Pick-up trucks, SUVs, MUVs dont make hatchbacks. Don't ask me why, ask the yankees.

4. Now that i am done abusing, let me add some more important stuff. The hatches should produce no more than 250 hp. They should be unmodified stock cars. So u can think about those sport exhausts and high lift cams later.

5. Cars can be Indian or from any part of the world. If u think that most of us TBites haven't heard of the particular hatch, u can post a pic of it.

6. Lastly, the list is unmodifiable. 5 means 5. So take ur time, think, select, delete, re-think but post only once.

That's all guys.

Eagerly waiting to read ur choices.

Well, I'll be the first one to have a go at this.

In no particular order:
#1. VW Golf Mk 1
#2. Talbot Sunbeam (Lotus)
#3. Lancia Delta HF Integrale
#4. Peugeot 206
#5. Ford Escort RS Cosworth (year 1992)

I love the original Mini more than all these cars, but, it isn't really a hatchback.

Well here's my list, set by my own rules...lol

1. Lancia Delta Integrale HF (very much the car i wanna have a few years from now)
2. VW Gold GTi-Mark 1 (the king of small hot hatches in its time)
3. Ford Escort Cossie (always been a cossie lover)
4. VW 3L (oh, i forgot to add, on those days that my miserly side wakes up it needs a shot or two of lil' less fuel, the 3L thankfully reminding my Indian instincts!)
5. Peugeot 106 2.0 lightning (u might see one in my garage sometime too, cheeky lil fella that can teach a bigger sports car a thing or two)

Revv

P.S. Kool sun, that Xsara WRC produces 300 horses. u may have to get that one out.

Now the Scirocco is very much a coupe, a great one, but a coupe! There's no way that can be classified as a hatch. If you call that a hatch, then I can say an Audi Quattro is a hatch too. It may have a hatch, but we all know its not really consdered one. Hell, even a 360 modena would be a hatch if you think of it like that!

Sorry revv, you gotto play by your own rules here !!

Quick List on My Fav Hot Hatches :

1. Renault Clio V6
2. Mini Cooper S (BBR / Works)
3. Honda Civic Type-R (Spoon / Mines)
4. Alfa Romeo 147 GTA
5. Peugeot 206 GTi
---------============----------
PS. Some one mentioned a Citreon Xsara (WRC)? Its a Fast Back.. But if that qualifies, I'll get rid of the Peugeot
and if WRC qualifies, then the topper would be the Lancia Delta Integrale. Not too big a fan of the Stock Lancia Delta Integrale and Xsara.
And does anyone remember the AlfaRomeo's Concept - Brera ?
There was just one Prototype, dont know whats happened to that. It looked.. Wicked..

- Ford Focus RS: Only thing missing here is 4WD
- New Mini Cooper S: I'm in love with this car
