RR 200EX/ RR Ghost Initial Impressions!

Hello All,

Been waiting to write this since quiet some time. Had been to Singapore in the end of March for an exclusive preview of the only RR Ghost in the world, organized by RR UK for the Asia Pacific dealers. Was a 4 day event held at the magnificent Capella resort (Newly Opened) at Sentosa Islands. Got to see and feel the RR Ghost first hand, she sure is spell binding. Here are a few initial impressions:

Exterior:
- Built completely new from ground up, does not share any body parts with the earlier Phantoms.
- Appears more compact,sporty and approachable, not as intimidating as the Phantom or the EWB.
- Nice subtle lines and stately appearance, much like the Bentley Flying Spur.

Interior:
- Again completely new design. Everything inside is new. The features and electricals are based largely on the new gen BMW 7 Series F02.
- The controls, displays, functions are identical to the F02.
- Luxurious and spacious without a doubt.

Powertrain:
- New 6.6ltr V12 Twin turbo motor borrowed from BMW and tweaked by RR to meet their specifications. Yet to receive an F02 with the new V12 Engine.
- The car was just for display and not meant to be driven, since it had to visit a lot of countries and is the only one in the world!

Pricing is not yet confirmed, but will be less than the RR Phantom SWB. Should expect deliveries in the middle of 2010!

Standard Rolls fare..like a bit more swoopy evolution of the Phantom.headlamps look classy and innovative.Nice scoop there!!!

Its a classic RR image.The front Grille,Alloys..dont find much change at all.

The size of the vehicle cant be grasped from those low pics.

Lucky you!! That must have been one amazing experience!
I know that cars from the RR stable have a stereotypical look, but there's something a tab bit difference about the Ghost. I'd love to see pics of the machine, taken in broad daylight!

That does look amazing. Ive somehow never liked the Bentley FS. I think this would really dent the Bentley FS sales in a big way.

Sushil, now that's just unfair...Just when you think it can't get any better than the DHC you go and spoil my dreams. Damn that must be one of the most modern looking Rolls ever, the swoopy style, the headlamps all amazing.

I see that there's great boot capacity LOL also wonder what the FE is

Brilliant pics Sushil, even the ones from your cam !
I love how the RR design team just get the perfect blend each time. With the current Phantom, they kept the prestige and heritage intact in addition to giving it modern look and features. This time too, they kept the prestige of an RR and similarities with it's big daddy Phantom but at the same time made it feel at home with other luxury sedans.
The interiors reek quality and finesse. Boot space is very good too. Although it can certainly be mistaken as a Phantom by some, there are a few grey areas- The front facia and headlamps make it look similar to the maserati quattroporte. The interior space seems a little cramped in comparison to the 7er and it's likes. The rear view mirrors look awkward !
Sushil- Can you give us a short comparo between the F02 7 series and the 200EX. And the Bentley flying spur, if possible.
