Another McLaren F1 gone :(

With a heavy heart, I hate to say it, a road going version of a McLaren F1 has burst up in flames. It is pretty much rendered useless. Argh, it actually makes me sad!

The websites states that the car wasn't used for 6 months and hence this happened.

Could this be possible??

Its so sad to see one of the best supercars being destroyed. And that too when its not due to some maniac driven accident.

Ouch, what a devastating sight! My heart goes out to the owner, but it's not like he was really using the car...one drive in 6 months = investment car. Insurance company's going to write him a fat cheque.

I'm willing to bet this car will eventually find a restorer.

Thats true. In all probability the car will be totalled, and someone's going to pick this up. Then the restoration starts!

Sad indeed. Lets hope that one of the three new McLarens is a reincarnation of the old F1.
Yeah Nitin, you are right. Hope it gets restored to better than new!

A $2 Million 1995 McLaren F-1 Coupe was destroyed today after the engine caught fire. The owner had not driven the car in 6 months which probably explains why it had engine problems. There were only about 100 Mclaren F1's produced and at least 6 have been destoyed in crashes. This one happened on Airport Blvd in Santa Rosa, CA.
