If you think Sumo Grande, Xylo, Bolero et al are the last word in automotive design crappiness, think again!

Here are some particularly eye-larming examples:

Honda Element

What's more, these are all 2008-09 models!

Note to Mods: I only posted this in the Indian Cars thread because Indian designed cars and UV's get a lot of bashing for their looks, this is not about international cars per se but that we shouldn't be so hard on ourselves!

Personally, except Honda and Mazda, I kind of like the Jeep designs.

fiat multipla anyone! michael schumacher drives one i heard.

and i like honda and mazda's look.

i also do like Yeti's looks which i think is same as honda's.

by the way, what's the point in discussing personal perceptions, they will always vary, what's the point in having a debate just for the sake of it.

In my first post i would like to say.

"Beauty lies in the eye's of the beholder!!!!"

This Jeep design, yes, but not the ones above, surely!

Beauty lies in beholder's eyes and hence I don't see a reason for this thread (except for the awareness it creates of these existing models).

I personally liked all of it. They are not great looking but they are not that bad either as you are making it sound. You might feel otherwise, but its totally each ones perception.

The honda seems to be "inspired" by the land rover discovery. Jeeps are horrible, especially Jeep Compass.
And whats wrong with Mazda?

The Fiat Multipla.

Except Honda , I like everything here but then I do like Grande exterion as well only thing bad was price and Sumo tag and poor visibility in RVM.

yeap. i first read about it in autocar india magazine i think and the article mentioned the schumacher connection.

the new version is slightly better looking.

@Xinger: What do you drive?

No personal offense meant to anyone. But going through the threads here I did notice some Indian cars, particularly UV's, being bashed for their looks, hence the thread.

I drive a Santro Xing, also not a car that gets much praise for its looks!!

American Beauty - How can you miss this?

The Honda Element on top is a very nice vehicle - and very very practical - Sit inside and you will know (rear door opens outwards, lots of space, you can easily spend a night in it) It is aimed at people who do trekking etc etc., I would buy a Honda Element if sold in India - light, rugged, reliable, practicle, managable in traffic etc. We all know Honda can make beautiful cars also - so this proves that some vehicles are actually designed for utility and practicality - same applies for TATA.
