New Audi A8 uncovered

Don't be fooled by the fake Mitsubishi disguise.
Its the next gen Audi A8, spied in the USA, going by the looks of the taillights and the familiar Audi profile.

Boring - looks like an A4 on steeroids. Again, the final detailing might make it look good

Awesome! Man, the fake upside down Mitsubishi emblem is not enough, because the huge gaping front grills (although upside down) is such a give away.

Audi's uber express gets updated following Audi's current lineage! Retains the understated looks.A bit boring.

This car looks hilarious from the front.I bet Mitsu wont be pleased turning their badge upside down and sticking it in front of a test mule.

2010 Audi A8 Rendered

2010 Audi A8 rendered again picture: 314692 - Top Speed
Audi is planning to unveil a redesigned Audi A8 early in 2010 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. According to Edmund’s Inside Line, the next generation A8 will undergo more of an evolutionary restyling rather than a radical update in order to look more like rest of the current four ringed family. Just like its predecessor, the smoothed A8 will compete with other upscale models like the Mercedes Benz S-Class and the BMW 7-Series luxury limousine.

Under the hood, we are expecting to see a host of gas and diesel burning engines, including the torquey twelve cylinder engine that is currently used in the Q7 V12 TDI, as well as the 5.2 Liter engine that is going in the back of the upcoming V10 R8. The ten cylinder will deliver up to 520 HP, just like the super car, and the rather large TDI mill will have a maximum output somewhere in the same range as the gas engine except with a monstrous 738 lb-ft of torque and an available eight-speed automatic transmission.

This will be the fourth generation of the Audi A8, and from the rendering it is apparent that the automaker is focusing on evolution rather than revolution and continue to use the "Vorsprung durch Technik" inspired aluminum space frame and Quattro all-wheel drive system with sport differentials.

Is it just me, or does the pic posted by AyAn! look different from the scoop pics? The lights look a bit different to me.Or is it some sort of cammo (more like a car bra, as its called) ?
Also, if it really is the A8, aren't there limitations on using some other car maker's logo to hide the identity of the original car?

Either way, I prefer Ayan's pic. That car looks much better.

Some news on the car. I am not posting the images from the link due to slow internet connection problem I am currently facing.
Source : 2011 Audi A8 Full Body Prototype First Spy Photos

Article :

Quote:
Some observers have stated that Audi is not likely to unveil the next-generation A8 at the Frankfurt Motor Show because the company does not want its flagship to share the limelight with the other significant debuts. Therefore while it's been confirmed for unveling in 2010, the A8 (codename D4) will not be seen in public for at least a year.

Good thing our spy photographers are still out there. They caught this camouflaged model being tested. These are the first pictures showing the full prototype and as expected very little detail is clearly visible. One thing for sure is that the front grille is large while the bonnet seems to bulge as it makes its way from the fender to the A-pillar. The same bulge appears on the side of the boot above the LED rear rights. A number of sensors aimed at improving safety have been placed on the bumpers.

Likely engines include the 3.0 TDI V6 which should make about 190kW (258hp) and over 540Nm by then. Petrol V6s and V8s will be comparable to rivals' in power output and efficiency. Audi will most certainly get into the next big thing in eco-friendliness, either by installing a hybrid or full-on electric drive system in the big luxury sedan. Remember Audi pioneered aluminium Space Frame body technology with the first-generation A8 and is expected to exploit this further.
